| Introduction | Once again, I find myself returning to this blog after a long hiatus. My 40+ year love affair with tabletop RPGs continues to connect me with amazing people and gives me a structured space for my imagination to flow and flourish. Over the decades ttRPGs served as a haven from anxiety, depression, and the daily stress of life. The hobby is also a source of tremendous joy for me! My day job is in front line social services. I love the folks I get to work with and cherish my role as a helper, but it can be difficult and disconnecting from it when I'm not at work is important self care, and ttRPGs are one of the tools I use to do that. In the past the blog focused on engaging with existing game systems to get certain play experiences, smooth things out, or adjust it to fit my style of running. Changes in my life, gaming and otherwise, led me in some different directions to make it more of a development blog. I still play all kinds RPGs and adventures, but my home games and a crossover with my professional work have me diving deep into game design. That's the journey I'll be sharing for now. So that's me. Still searching for magic. Come along if you like. |
