| Introduction | I fall in the category of "Senior Citizen". I have traveled and lived in many places on planet earth, including many foreign countries. I can't say exactly when, but at some point in my life I became aware that many of my personal beliefs, convictions, & understandings were based mainly on what I had been told, taught or I had heard from other people. Among other things, these included political convictions, religious beliefs, some basic proper social belief, etc. Over time I became aware that many of these weren’t necessarily true. Therefore, I became a researcher of sorts in order to learn the facts. Eventually I realized that my basic problem had been allowing other people to “think” for me. And by doing so, these people had instilled their values in me. I had been taught what to think and believe by them. I no longer allow others to think for me. I think for my self. What I think now is my idea, not someone else’s. |
