| Introduction | I was born and grew up at the top end of Ripley Road, Cottingham in the 1950s/60s.Through my mother I can trace my ancestry in Cottingham back to the early 1500s. I've always been fascinated by the history of the village and north east Northamptonshire, inspired in part by Cottingham school head teacher and local historian Allston Kisby. Having been made redundant from my job as a charity worker three years ago, I am now retired by default. This has given me the chance to develop this website as my contribution to village history. I hope people will find it interesting. |
