| Introduction | I've been interested in films and animation ever since I was a pre-schooler. One of my earliest impressions was seeing Max Fleischer's OUT OF THE INKWELL on television. I think that seeing this created an interest in drawing for me due to the many things that were possible from the magic inkwell. I was so impressed that I dreamed that I step through the television screen into the black and white world of OUT OF THE INKWELL. There I visited Max Fleischer who greeted me like an old uncle, and setting me on his lap, he showed me all of his drawing tools. Then Koko stuck his head out of the inkwell, and seeing me, ducked down with a little splash. Wanting to see the clown, I pulled the ink bottle forward, only to tip it over with a big black splash of ink, causing Max to drop me out of reflex. I woke up having fallen out of bed a la LITTLE NEMO. Ever since, I've felt obligated to make amends for upsetting Max Fleischer's famous inkwell. So I went into the animation field. |
