| Introduction | The original purpose of the Guild was to "promote and encourage the creation and appreciation of fine art." In recent years, the Oxford Artist's Guild has broadened the membership to include both fine artists, and crafts people, who are, "involved in the creation of original works of fine art and fine craft." Our goal is promoting and encouraging the creation and appreciation of fine art and craft. The OAG membership includes both professional artists and craftspeople, and hobbyists with an interest in arts and crafts. Included in the Guild are painters, potters, sculptors, jewelry makers, photographers, fabric artists, and those involved in many other forms of artistic expression. Members create with paper, wood, metal, oil, acrylic, watercolor, fabric, dye, clay, gems and minerals, as well as with many other media. Because the membership is a diverse group their work represents their varied interests and approaches to art. |
