| Introduction | I'm a yuppie from Canada with a passion for seeing the world and studying global issues. I come from a humble immigrant household that didn't have a large budget for luxury family travels. However, my parents always encouraged us to consider Canada as a "base camp", and the world as our proverbial "oyster". When I was in university, my siblings and I jumped on our bicycles, and traveled in western Europe for forty days. My parents remained behind in Canada to work and fund our trip. We ate backpacker food and stayed at campgrounds. It was sometimes exhausting, but remains the most memorable trip of my life. Since then, my passion for seeing the world has never stopped. I love a warm baguette, a bowl of fresh fruits, reading non-fiction bestsellers on my Kindle, cuddling with my dog, staying up late to talk with my mom, and walking in the rain.
