| Introduction | My name is Matt Schuldt and I am a 2011 graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism. It is my ambition to be a sports writer for a prominent newspaper after graduation. I'm from Orland Park, IL, a southwest suburb of Chicago. I love everything about Chicago and hope to go back someday. I am an avid sports fan. My friends consider me to be a walking sports encyclopedia. Ice hockey is my favorite sport. I've played it for 16 years and even though I'm a washed up has-been, I still play with friends and former high school teammates in a men's roller hockey league on Thursday nights. Our team, the Benders, is a perennial championship contender at the Homer Glen Megaplex and we like to think we're a pretty big deal. In addition to hockey, I also played baseball for 8 years and football for 1 year. Sports are my one true escape from work and the academic rigors of being a journalism major at Ohio University. I have a wonderful mother and father, two sisters, and a dog. Without my family, I would not be where I am today. Their love and support allows me to follow my dreams and do what makes me happy. |
