Introduction Seven years ago I went to what I thought was a cute little tap dance recital for my partner's daughter, Jayka. I thought, ok, it will be fun to see her perform, but staying through an entire show? I thought I would fall asleep. I was wrong. By the end of the show, I was the first up on my feet, clapping and stamping! I turned to a woman beside me, and yelled, "I have to do this, I have to learn how to tap! The woman I said this to was Anna Kramer, director of Vancouver Tap Society, and now a great friend. She said, "Come and join us at Van Tap, take some lessons." That was in June. In September I took Adult Beginners tap, taught by a beautiful and extremely talented woman named Mika Komatsu. I fell in love with tap. I am so blessed to have found something that gives me such joy at this stage of my life. Starting a new passion at 51... now I am 57 and still having the time of my life. I have now 4 shows under my belt, and look forward to the next 400! Stay tuned, I will be posting more photos and stories of my journey... and, to anyone out there who has secretly wanted to do something, but were afraid to do it... jump in! Its never too late!
