| Introduction | I left the Catholic Church when I was 15 and was away for 27 years. During that time I explored New Age and Eastern religions. When God called me back to the Church I was horrified to discover that many non-Catholic practices had been introduced in Catholic parishes and retreat centers. A quick glance at the course and retreat offerings revealed titles such as Zen meditation, reiki sessions, centering prayer, and yoga, to name a few. Since that first disturbing discovery I have searched for orthodox retreat centers and books. I have made mistakes along the way and read books that were not really Catholic although they were promoted as such. Thankfully I have been on several wonderful Catholic retreats. I would like to help others in their search for orthodox Catholic resources. |
