Introduction	I originally created this blog in order to keep in touch/update the many wonderful people in my life while I studied for a semester in Central America. It then served (sporadically) to keep me in touch with folks back home as I returned to El Salvador for a year post-graduation. Now I am a Lutheran Volunteer Corps volunteer in Detroit, MI. I am embarking on a year of urban farming and community education. And I can only imagine that, wherever I find myself for the long haul (and who knows?), I am likely creating yet one more place that can consider "back home."

Favorite Music	really anything that sounds like music (which in my mind doesn't include wild screaming death metal - but just about anything else), Frente!, Carrie Newcomer, The Wailin' Jennys
Favorite Books	Dr. Zhivago, anything by Ha Jin or Anita Diamant, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, lots of Sherman Alexie's writing, Prodigal Summer, The Cloister Walk
