| Introduction | The University of the Philippines Babaylan is the leading lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students' support group in UP Diliman. Established in 1992, UP Babaylan campaigns for equal rights for all individuals regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity, with a focus on making UP Diliman a “safe space” for LGBT students. As a support and advocacy group, UP Babaylan regularly conducts workshops and educational discussions with UP Diliman students about issues relevant to the LGBT community, such as sex, gender, and sexuality, HIV/AIDS, the Anti-discrimination Bill, vagrancy, and other related topics. |
