Introduction	I am writing this blog from Santa Barbara, California. I live here with my wonderful husband (henceforth referred to as Fat Back), our son Ewan, and our yellow lab, Chester Jamel. Fat Back and I both love the outdoors, so Santa Barbara is a wonderful place for us to live. We used to spend much of our time hiking, biking, and kayaking before our son was born in July, 2010. Now we get to share our love of the outdoors with him! As far as occupations go, I am a Chemical Engineer working at a start-up that I like to call the Biodome. Fat Back is an engineering PhD student at UC Santa Barbara, and he is the reason that we are living in one of the most beautiful, temperate places in the country. We moved here in August of 2006; boy does time fly.
