| Introduction | We are retired teachers; Sharon Garcia and Joan McCormick. We met early in our teaching careers. We were drawn to each other by our desire to bring out each student’s innate voice and our mutual love of creativity in our own lives as well as the lives of our students. We formed a small art support group with the purpose of opening to new ways of seeing and tapping the creativity within. After several years we drifted, but as our careers were coming to a close we reconnected with our focus on retooling for our retirement. As teachers, learners and artists we find that the practice of mindfulness is our most treasured tool. It is always what unlocks the lesson and the best outcome for whatever kind of moment we happen to be in. We celebrated our new beginnings by getting certified in Zentangle. We continue to express our purpose of creativity, art, and bringing out the voice of others by teaching Zentangle and inspiring joy! |
