Introduction What it takes to be a truly great band hasn’t changed since the first electric guitar chords were recorded. Even in an era when artists are made famous from singles alone on stage is still where it really counts, meaning a quality act must have talent well beyond the studio. That’s certainly the case with The Nankeens. Originally members of two separate bands, this four-man outfit in their mid-20s, led by two brothers, hail from the same Salford as the Lads Clubs, although their indie rock sound has no time for local heroes of days gone by. Instead the focus is on contemporary song writing about personal experiences, not to mention powerful arrangements that make feet and heads move. Attendees at their regular Friday night free parties already know of their unique musical personality, not to mention the quartet’s live abilities. Needless to say then, the group in question - AKA singer and rhythm guitarist Adam Darby, drummer Simon Darby, bassist Mark Barlow and lead strummer Adam Tattersall- have a particularly promising future ahead, but unlike many faces currently competing for attention, they already deserve it
Interests Making music, gigging, home-recording.
