| Introduction | An experienced architect and project manager from the UK, I have completed a Masters in Tropical Agricultural Development and have spent 3 1/2 years in Uganda with a small, radical team of Christians building and setting up a village for 200 orphans with HIV/AIDS. The 20 acre site is on the shore of Lake Victoria, nr Entebbe, at Bulega, off the Garuga Road. The land includes space for a farm to grow food and keep animals to provide about 50% of the food needs of the village as well as to grow cash crops for funding the project. Now we are back in the UK. Sandy and I bought 4 acres of land in Ystradfellte, the Brecon Beacons, Wales just before leaving the UK and we are part way through self-build convertion of a series of small barns into a sustainable, low energy home and smallholding. I am setting up an overseas development consultancy. I am 55 years old. |
