Introduction	Rabin Man Shakya: A Nepali journalist based in Portland, Oregon, USA. My focus is on Nepalese media, Newah culture and festivals and Buddhism, as well as the activities of the Nepalese organizations and people in Oregon. Born in 1956 in Kathmandu, I did my high school from J P High School and received my undergrad degree from Shankardev Campus, Tribhuvan University in 1978. I completed and passed Masters Degree in Journalism from the Belarusian State University, Minsk in 1985. And when I successfully defended my Ph D thesis entitled "Nepalese Press: Political Orientation, Problems of Growth and Challenges" on March 10, 1989 at Moscow State University, I became the first Ph D holder in Journalism in the history of Nepalese journalism and Nepalese media education. Past professional experience includes: Assistant Editor, English Desk, Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS - National News Agency of Nepal) 1991, Journalist with Nepal's first national broadsheet daily newspaper in English 'The Rising Nepal' (1992-2005) and Lecturer of Journalism at the Peoples' Campus which is affiliated to Tribhuvan University (1992-2002). Travel experience: More than 25 countries in Europe, Asia and America.
