| Introduction | Arts & Dreams was created in 2009 by Laura Baran, who leads the workshops with Patricia Geremia. Patricia Geremia and Laura Baran are close friends who live in New York City. In 2006, Patricia introduced Laura to a book by Louise Hay called "You Can Heal Your Life" which sparked a fire of inspiration and led to the vision for Arts & Dreams workshops.
Laura Baran earned a BFA with honors from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and is an award winning painter (Society of Illustrators, New York). She lost her brother Jeff in 2000 to hopelessness. Laura overcame her own depression by learning to love herself and by using the art that she always loved making in a new, healing way. She serves on the Board of Directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - New York City Chapter. Patricia Geremia is a photographer with her own line of frameable prints and greeting cards called PatriciaG photos. She is an active volunteer in the New York City area and has been mentoring since 1995, sharing warmth and embodying generosity. Patricia is also a certified Reiki healer. |
