Introduction Fabric Artist, Educator, Wife, and Mom. Some of the many hats Cheryl wears on any given day. Cheryl began her quilting in 1998 when her husband, Jeff, gave her a used Pfaff sewing machine. She had always admired the handiwork of her grandmother-in-law, Lelia Hammack. Lelia was a lay quilter who did wonderful hand work. When Cheryl received her first sewing machine, she never thought she would actually be able to make a quilt. Before she had even sat down and sewn her first stitch, she had decided the machine would get sold on E-Bay. In order to justify her sale, she knew she had to use it just once and not like it. Much to her surprise, dislike it, she did not. She fell in love with it, and to this day, still has that Pfaff machine. Cheryl's fiber art website is: www.hand-made-hugs.com In addition to her teaching and busy schedule as a wife and mom, Cheryl founded and leads the H.U.G.S. Quilt ministry at North Hills Community Church in Taylors, SC. Visit their website at: www.hugsministry.com. Cheryl is a 20 year arthritis veteran.
