I am long road trips and vacations on the lake paid for from the penny jar. I am the old car that just will not quit. I am the dissertation on the shelf and the diplomas on the wall. I am optimism born from white privilege. I am a husband, father, son, sibling, friend and educator. I am the love and the happiness only acquired by tying your fate to others. I am the fear created by the thought of a world without them. I am the realization that this is what love is. |
