| Introduction | We are a group of Kannadiga NRIs currently in Canada and USA. We are concerned about recent reports in Karnataka's media on instances of sexual harassment at work places in the state of Karnataka, particularly in the offices of Karnataka State Government. As non-resident Indians born and brought up in Karnataka we are trying to project Karnataka and Bangalore (Bengalooru) its Capital, as India's best cultural, economic and tourist destination. Hence, we are very concerned about the impact these incidents might have on the image of our beloved Karnataka. In this year of Suvarna Karnataka, the 50th anniversary of formation of Karnataka state, we are volunteering our time to request the Government of Karnataka to lead India by making its offices a safe place for women to earn their livelihood and lead respectable lives. We want Karnataka to be India's most women-friendly state, not only at home but also at the work place. Jai Hind! |
