About me

OccupationResearcher - Social Science
LocationUnited Kingdom
IntroductionI was born in a small village in the Central Alps’ region of North Italy and studied at the University of Parma to become an archaeologist with a specialization in human remains and burials. After working as archaeologist in Italy and Spain I moved to Ireland to train as anthropologist as I felt I wanted to learn more about the cultural and social context in which people lived and died. I was awarded a PhD in Anthropology with a project on infantile funerary practices. Subsequently, I worked with the Digital Health Group at Intel Ireland. The main focus of my work there was on ageing, technology, independent living and chronic illnesses. I then joined the Technology Research for Independent Living (TRIL) Centre (www.trilcentre.org) at University College Dublin working in these same fields as lead ethnographer.
