| Introduction | I am a mom of 3 who had a successful career in software sales prior to choosing to stay home and raise my kids. Being a parent has taught me amazing things about myself. I have become a de facto student of childhood development and this guides me as I paddle upstream in a society that does not embrace the essence of children. I know that my deliberate and well-thought-out methods will serve me well as my children grow and prosper. We are an unschooling family who started life in the Public School system. We now know that children learn best when they are allowed to freely pursue their own interests. We have created an environment in our home where everyone's needs are respected and learning can thrive. Our children are happy, confident and wonderfully interested in the world. |
