Introduction I have been reading since the age of 3, beginning with fast food signs and moving on to the Weekly Reader book club by age 4. So after having read approximately 49,905 books I figure I have enough layperson experience with them to offer an opinion.
Interests I love sports, watching (baseball, hockey, football) and playing (softball, volleyball, mud football); shooting pool, throwing darts, having a good time with friends, reading any kind of book, writing... I like camping, whitewater rafting, target shooting, archery, parasailing, boogie boarding, games of mental dexterity, anything I can win, and all references to trivia. I enjoy spontaneous road trips to border towns, San Francisco, San Diego or Taos. I'll also fly off to New York, New Orleans, Florence or Cairo. I would like to see every major city in the world at least once and visit all the amazing architecture to be found. I will sleep under the stars when necessary, but I do prefer a 4-star hotel with a large jacuzzi tub and carpet so thick your feet sink an inch. What this means is I'm flexible and adaptable to my surroundings, but I do love plumbing! Lastly, I like to drive through old towns and read crumbling headstones in cemeteries.
Favorite Movies The Pirate Movie, Little Miss Sunshine, Letters from Iwo Jima, Braveheart, Pulp Fiction, Airplane!, Grease, High Society, Love Actually, His Gal Friday, The Full Monty, Princess Bride, 10 Things I Hate About You, Ice Pirates, Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, Phantom of the Opera, Sliding Doors, Garden State, Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, A League of Their Own, Moulin Rouge, A Life Less Ordinary, Primer...(and anything involving time travel, yes even Back to the Future).
Favorite Music I like silly, happy music. The soundtrack to Sound of Music. I love swing and big band, Sinatra and Dean. I like things I can dance to and hear the lyrics at the same time. I also love classical baroque. If it's good, I'll like it, but I confess that I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to music.
Favorite Books So many books. Too many to narrow it down, but I will say the following: A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, Slaughterhouse 5, The Time Traveller's Wife, A Confederacy of Dunces, all of David Sedaris, Gates of Fire, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Last Tree in Brooklyn and The Handmaid's Tale. Favorite poet: Christina Rossetti.

Never mind the turtle. Don't you think you're sure to win?
