Introduction	I am a 43 year old wife and mother of one pre-teen daughter. I live in rural Indiana on a farm where I have too many hobbies: I am a self-taught potter and I'm passionate about horses (specifically off-track Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds). I don't have nearly enough time to garden or take pictures but I love to do both just as much as throwing and riding. I am finishing my 5th year of college at IPFW having transferred the previous 4 years from Cal Poly Pomona and Citrus College in CA where I lived for 31 years...with any luck I will enter the transition to teaching program this spring and I will have my Indiana teaching license in May 2011. Having returned to college after so many years I am reminded of much I love education ~ I'm actually a little sad that I have less than 2 years to go...I love learning, 'that' much. This blog (Genderese) has been created for a Gender Communications course here at IPFW for Fall 2009.

Favorite Music	I love music - I actually dropped out of high school in my senior year because I was in a band and thought I'd be touring and there was no need for a high school diploma (see how that turned out?). I have a varied taste - from David Bowie to Nora Jones. The music that makes me swoon the most always has a soulful backbone.
