Introduction	Genealogy has been my hobby since I was 18 years old (1969), but not until I retired in 2012 was I able to work on it consistently. It has become my vocation as well as my avocation. This blog is an extension of that. I was born, 16 February 1951 in Freeport, Brazoria County, Texas. After college, I moved to Fort Bend County for my first teaching job (2 years), to League City for the next 5 years, and then to Spring, where I have lived for the last 38 years, and where my only son grew up. Since retiring, I have traveled to Salt Lake City, UT twice, Washington D. C. (NARA) several times, done cemetery research in TX, TN & MS, and courthouse research in MS & TX. On a 2015 trip, Jay & I visited one of our ancestor's home town, Wilsnack, Germany & the Emigration Museum in Hamburg, from which he departed in 1870. We also visited Lachlan Castle on Loch Fyne, the seat of the McLauchlin Clan in Strachur, Argyllshire, Scotland.
