Introduction	Rumble Production and The Theatre Centre have joined forces to offer a unique residency opportunity for one British Columbia based and one Ontario based emerging theatre company. Chosen companies from each region will be offered resident company status with both The Theatre Centre and Rumble. During the course of the two-year residency the emerging companies will develop, produce and tour a new work with the support and guidance of our combined artistic and administrative staffs. Fundamental to the cooperative nature of Bridging the Gap are a series of intercity exchanges. While the mentorship and presentation of emerging artists has become standard practice for Rumble and the Theatre Centre, it is this element of exchange that makes this initiative unique and will server to greatly enhance the benefits to the participating emerging artists. It is our belief that bringing together talented young and established artists, with differing cultural, creative and social contexts will also go a long way in bridging the huge gap between our two regions. The following Blog is an informal record of the first of these exchanges that will take place from June 9th - 21st 2008.
