| Introduction | German born and displaced American, David Scheier is a writer and Illustrator and co-founder of the Buttered Toast Reading Series in El Paso, Texas. He has a silver tongue with a taste for the finer things in life. He currently lives in Chicago, Illinois.David Scheier is writer and illustrator who was born in Germany and mostly raised in the South West of the US. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing from the University of Texas at El Paso with a minor in film, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing from the School of Art Institute of Chicago. Currently, he teaches interdisciplinary courses at Harold Washington City College. Both his illustrated and written work have appeared in various publications including the following: The State, Spork, BlazeVOX, Organs of Vision and Speech (OVS,) Front Porch Journal, Rio Grande Review, Petrichor Machine, Gather Kindling, DUM DUM Zine and Ginger Piglet.
