| Introduction | As a professionally trained designer keeping with my cultural traditions of my native Spanish-Andean heritage, I am continuing my family's legacy of over three generations of craftsman jewelers. By choosing a different artistic approach from my family, I use fine gemstones from the Americas to the Far East, creating my exotic, Western-style unique pieces Native and Mexican pieces. Growing up as a Mestiza, I always wanted to 'blend', so I turned my back on anything remotely folkloric, or 'different' that would make me stand out. Basically, I walked away from my true artistic roots and followed what everyone else was doing. Burying, and trying to forget it all, I finally realized that I was not being true to myself, and embarked on this journey during the second half of my life. |
