Introduction Colombian writer postgraduate in human rights, trained in immigration & refugee issues from York University & job counselling from JVS / George Brown College. Since 2009 works as Settlement & Employment Counsellor with a community agency; committed with peace groups, in Canada has worked with grassroots organizations. In Colombia worked with urban and rural communities, including forced displaced people, reported on human rights abuses, also on the five-decade civil war in his country. Luis has lectured on globalization, social justice & human rights. Has published two books, one about the links between the origins of the insurgency and poverty, isolation and violence against rural communities in Colomnbia. His second book is on the Genocide Against de Patriotic Union (El Genocidio contra la Unión Patriótica), a movement which was a hope for those looking to see Colombia living in peace and social justice with effective human rights.

I like to research and write about social and political issues of Colombia and Latin America, particularly about human rights and rural-agrarian issues. Me gusta la literatura y el buen cine.
