| Introduction | I was brought up on a back country farm - born 1935. I went to boarding schools, than to University and studied philosophy to M.A. Went to teacher's college, taught for a bit then to Spain to teach Eng. as a foreign language. Did that too in London and Sweden. Married a Swede. Worked in Stockholm International Peace Institute. Did other odd work, divorced and back to New Zealand. Have two daughters - on in Sweden with two grandchildren, and also have one here in Christchurch, partnered with a Russian, and by her I have two more grandchildren. |

| Favorite movies | Anything that is either witty and ironical or offers something that you can get your teeth into - that teaches you something about life in some depth. |
| Favorite music | Almost all music, especially classical, but also pop etc., so long as it's not pretentious and there's a bit of poetry in the words of songs and the words are properly articulated. |
| Favorite books | 'Lord of the Rings' type fantasy and some sci-fi, but also any serious well-written book if it's not about sport. I rarely like 'lite' humorous books, but there are good books that make one laugh, usually because they have wit and irony. |
