| Introduction | I was born in Africa then raised in Mauritius with the laidback island lifestyle and climate influencing the fashion around me. German influences from my mother and travel throughout Europe combined with my current life in Perth, Western Australia has given me great exposure to different cultures, styles and trends, fuelling my passion for fashion and creative expression. Having just recently completed my degree in Communication Studies and German and a desire to further foster my passion, starting this blog is an initiative to show what characterizes me as an individual, but is also a social experiment in collaboration with my beautiful friend Kari from British Columbia. Kari and I met over a year ago during her exchange to Perth, our affinities enabled us to click immediately and we developed a strong friendship and decided to create this blog due to our shared passions for fashion and life-style. Our blog is unique because we are posting from opposite ends of the world, I from Perth, one of the most isolated cities in the world, and Kari from Kelowna, BC. We hope that Modern Girls in Vintage Pearls will bring a little uniqueness into the blogging community. |
