Introduction | I am a 38 yr old single female. I was born and raised in South Texas. I moved to the west coast in '98 but got back to Texas as fast as I could. I have always wanted to live out in the country like I did as a child. I have always had a fascination with survival, building my own little cabin, growing and raising my own food and just living the quiet peaceful life away from the craziness of this world. I've always said that if you can grow, hunt, or fish for your own food AND build a shelter, you can get through most anything. I have been building my own little cabin alone since Oct.'08. I know that to some that is a long time but I have no prior building skills so I am learning as I go and sometimes when you got the money you aint got the time and when you got the time you aint got the money. Yes, some of my friends and family think that I am crazy or weird for wanting to live like that but I dont care about what people think. I'm in my own little world and I like it there. C'mon along, I personally invite you to share this journey with me in this here lil place-o-mine. |

Which do you prefer and why: whittling with soap or whistling with wood?
Whittling with basswood because it is very soft and easy to carve. It is a favorite past time of mine.
