| Introduction | Dr. GIBSON G. VEDAMANI, an author, a retail industry expert and consultant, is Founder & Partner of Retail Solutions and Learning Technologies LLP (Retail SALT). He was the founding CEO of Retailers’ Association of India (RAI) and he has played a key role in establishing RAI in India as the country’s recognized professional retail body. He has worked in significant positions in renowned retail organizations like Bata, Shoppers Stop and Reliance Webstore. As a guest professor he addresses students in many B-Schools. He is an NSDC Nominee serving as a DIrector on the Board of Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India GJSCI). He has received FICCI’s ‘Retailer’s Retailer’ Award, Dewang Mehta Award for the Best Teacher in Retail Management and IBS Award for Excellent Contribution to the Retail Industry in India. He has authored three books on Retailing, published by renowned companies such as Pearson, Sixthsense & Sage. |
