Industry Arts
Occupation Patchwork Quilter, Textile Artist
Location Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
Introduction Hi! In November 2011, the rabid quilter that resides inside was set loose. Before succumbing, I was a laboratory scientist with a PhD and a life too busy for sewing. However, circumstances change, and until I can go play in the lab again, I have returned to two first loves: art and construction. Nothing currently scratches those itches for me as thoroughly as quilting. I am now your classic textile addict, a Clever Chameleon who chooses to colour herself happy and brighten her world. My desire is to share my love of colour and the textile arts, and hopefully brighten your day. Welcome to my quilt happy world! If you are looking for my quilting blog, I have moved to https://www.cleverchameleon.com.au/blog/
Interests Making people feel a little bit happier and connected through a common love of colour, contrast and the comforting nature of quilts. I particularly like time and effort saving techniques, paper piecing, free-form piecing, free-motion quilting, batiks, did I say colour? I enjoy visiting quilt shows and trawling the internet for amazing quilts. I don't think I will have ever admired enough quilts!
Favorite Books Favourite Quilting Authors, Bloggers and Pattern Makers include: Paula Nadelstern, Peggy Martin, Karen Stone, Judy Niemeyer, Maxine Rosenthal and Leah Day. That is just the tip of the iceberg, but hopefully gives you some idea of the styles I like. Favourite authors of non-quilting material? Terry Pratchett and Dr. Seuss.
