Introduction	I truly believe in humanity and our individual capacity to connect to the world. However, I think it is difficult for people to move outside of the bubbles they, and society, have created. For this reason, how we connect with the world will be diverse...good and bad. I am an educator working on a PhD in teacher education. I do this because I know change can happen, but knowledge is key and what we value as knowledge is complex. I am grounded in issues of social justice and critical pedagogy. If we are to see an end to oppression (in all forms) it will happen at the grassroots level NOT from the top down. I am a teacher, and I believe teachers DO make a difference. Because of this, how we engage with the world and our own knowing is vital.
