Introduction I'm an American who moved to Britain from Montreal in 1977, an experiment that turned into life without parole. After working for UPITN,ABC Sports and Major League Baseball, I went freelance as a journalist and broadcaster in 1994, working for(among others)the Guardian Spectator,FT,TLS,Telegraph,BBC.co.uk,Crime Time,& Headpress. Wrote Pocket Essential Sergio Leone, Clint Eastwood, and Oliver Stone, the afterword to Michael Connelly's Crime Beat and introductions to Sjowall & Wahloo's Murder At The Savoy and the Octopus Melville. Was a frequent contributor to Radio 5's Brief Lives.As Mike Carlson,I present American football on Channel 4 & the BBC,for whom I also did play by play on Olympic basketball. I've worked for Eurosport,Screensport,Showtime,Sky &many others,anything from Olympic ice hockey to Euroleague basketball,Winter University Games to pro wrestling, poker to lacrosse.
