Introduction | My name is Kelly and I have had Fibromyalgia for 20 years, although I was not diagnosed until a few years ago. There seems to be a history of unexplainable pain in the women on my mothers’ side of the family. I have read that Fibromyalgia may be hereditary, but it is still being tested. I wonder if they will discover that answer in my lifetime. After years of pain that seemed to skip all over my body and days where I felt the aches and pains that could not be soothed, my doctor sent me to a rheumatoid arthritis doctor. I thought..."oh great, he doesn't believe me." I was relieved to discover a reason for the pain. Great! Now I know what it is, how do I get rid of it? I soon learned that medications would help reduce the pain, but it would never just go away. That's okay, I handled it for half my life so far, I should be used to it. I will add links periodically to my blog that you may find helpful. This blog is a way to deal with the pain and to hopefully help others with the same diagnosis. I welcome any thoughts, comments, ideas and suggestions from anyone and everyone. We grow and learn from others. Maybe I can learn something too. |
