| Introduction | Angela Hynes was born in Salford, England. When she was five, her family immigrated to Northern Rhodesia—now Zambia—in Africa, where she was excellently educated and soundly disciplined by nuns. Later she moved to Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. At 19 she bought a one-way flight to London. For the next 10 years, she traveled widely and had a variety of menial jobs and congenial lovers. Her next move was to California, where she re-invented herself as a journalist and author. Her articles, mainly on health and fitness, have appeared in numerous national magazines and newspapers. She has also written several books, including a novel, and co-wrote and sold two screen-plays (currently doing 25 to life in development hell). Angela continued to travel, returning to Africa where she spent four months on an overland trip from Cairo to Cape Town. Other favorite destinations were Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Costa Rica, Australia, and the Peruvian Amazon. After many happy years in Santa Monica, she moved to Mexico, where she bought a 300-year-old house in Mineral de Pozos, a ghost town. Her little dog Henry likes it there, too. |
