| Introduction | Call it karma or a market crash, but my 30 year corporate career in the advertising business is over. Now what? For weeks, I kept waiting for this statement to be met with someone, anyone, saying "Oh, that's not true...just give it some time." No one did...in fact, everyone seemed to be encourageing me to find a new career path, or, perhaps, just "enjoy life". And, while I do want to enjoy life, I need a career.I don't golf. The truth is, I don't have the hand-eye coordination to play any sport and I can't seem to remember how to count cards to be good enough in bridge to pay for a manicure let alone the mortgage. Follow your passion everyone kept saying to me...and one morning, I realized I did have a passion (beyond the usual suspects of husband, kids and dogs) and that is, I love to bake! Why not try to bake bread to make bread, I said to myself. And since I have a felling this journey might be more bumpy, funny and messy than other ideas I've had (like working at the pet store!), I've decided to write it all down.I hope you'll come back and check in on me...I could use the company. So, here I begin....yikes! I have no idea where to start.... |
