| Introduction | Growing up in a family of artists, I wanted to be different, I suppose. I began my career as a picture frame maker at age 17. This company developed and went through various identities, Allman-Ricks became Krieger-Ricks...Business expanded into furniture and architectural elements. Offices were opened in New York City, Houston and High Point North Carolina. The attacks on September 11th found me overextended and I scrambled to re-evaluate my professional life. I decided to pare down to the original business of fine picture frames and mirror frames. Oh, and also I decided to begin a career as an artist. My wife panicked but was supportive and my art career took off due to my upbringing and my knowledge of the art business. Also I used my knowledge of digital art techniques to create my art work. A ten year period followed most of which has been very rewarding. |
