Introduction I love to paint the Australian Bush, be it the old pioneer huts, the natives or the majestic gum trees. The European roots always pull me back to reminiscent of the past, particularly the winter scenes. My preferred medium is Watercolours but occasionally I try my hand in oils and gouache. I am mostly self-taught, attend once a year a 3 days workshop at the Merroo Centre, organised by the Combined Art Societies and that’s the extend of my tuition for a year. I take loads of photos, often combine one or two to come up with a design which “speaks to me”, each painting is a part of me, it expresses my feelings and my fumbling. The necessary brush mileage is often very hard to put in, so I will remain an amateur artist for ever.
