IntroductionGreen Dog Walkers is a pilot project in Central Scotland, coming from the small village of Dunipace and COMMUNITY GREEN INITIATIVE. We are working to turn a new leaf to beautify our area - a stunningly beautiful rural place that needs a lot of TLC to combat litter, fly-tipping and dog fouling issues. Green Dog Walkers [Community Green Initiative (c) 2008] is simple: you sign a pledge to clean up after your dog, wear the armband, carry extra doggie bags and - combined with a lot of press and publicity on the part of local gov't - people start to understand that leaving dog fouling lying about is NOT COOL! So far the project is working so well that it's about to be launched throughout the Falkirk District. Special thanks must go to the Falkirk Council team of professionals who made this happen: Hania Smith, Kelly Connelly, Julie Paterson, Jennifer Milton. Special thanks to CGI Managing Committee members Christine Bell and Tracy McNeil for hours devoted, and to the 1st Dunipace Brownies for amazing help & energy! We would love to hear from you about tackling dog fouling problems wherever you live! MICHELLE MCCALLUM, GDW Project Leader
