| Introduction | 40 year old male diagnosed as Bipolar Affective Disorder 1 manic type 23 years ago. I am a mental health activist, a father, and a gay longtime partner. I am currently on disability for my illness. I used to be a very successful hair color artist and educator. Now I am a successful disabled bipolar patient. I am compliant with my therapy,medication, and doctor suggestions. I also have been diagnosed as a borderline. I am still learning about it and I do more everyday to overcome it. I use mindfulness meditation as a vehicle of treatment. |
| Interests | I am a very active person. I love to travel, writing poetry, gardening, reading, and several types of meditation practice.I enjoy educating others on mental illness in order to abolish stigma and I am very into peer support groups. |

| Favorite books | Thich Nhat Hahn books on Mindfulness. Books by the Dali Lama. Some self help, but I recently enjoyed Eat Pray Love. Poetry books are another favorite. |
