| Introduction | I was asked once by a friend "where are the Magnolia Mountains?" Though I am sure there is likely a place out there with the same name, the answer for 'my' Magnolia Mountians starts with a Ryan Adams song of the same name. When my wife and I were in college I worked as a radio DJ and part of my job was to listen to promo albums. One that I got assigned was "Cold Roses" by Ryan Adams .In the town we lived in there wasn't much to do aside from jumping in our 88 Toyota and cruising around the hills (Skyline Drive, Ut)and that album seemed to make itself at home in my CD player. The Magnolia Moutains for me encompass portions of all the places I have been- seen the way I saw them. I try to convey some of the emotions I may have been experiancing at the time. My goal is to share with others how I see things, maybe how it could be seen, or maybe jsut to capture a slice of something that is there and exaggerate it. How do you get to the Magnolia Mountains? Loosen your tie, grab a couple classic albums and go get lost somewhere- you'll arive shortly. Most impotantly cut loose, have a good time, and don't forget to bring your camera ;) |
