Introduction	I am an optometric educator and am currently associate dean of clinical affairs at the College of Optometry, Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. I have run the Optometric Residency Matching Service since 1995 and have been on the Board of Directors since its founding in 1984. I have been involved in residency education since 1974. I hope that you find residency education as challenging and rewarding as I have found my role in optometry.
