IntroductionI think too much, sing all the time, and drink way too much coffee. I love plays, poetry, books of all sorts, fairy tales, music at all times, abstract art, and philosophy. I love hot tea and long baths, and soft, soft blankets. I am a follower of Christ, a Revolution Christian, and a seriously flawed human being. But I agree with Elvis Costello, quoting Oscar Wilde, that "We are all of us in the gutter, only some of us are looking up at the stars." I am a seeker and stargazer. This is my cloud, come sit and we'll take it all in together.
Interestsart, music, the future, the past, space, stars, roller skates, movies, ghost stories, Christianity, home making, being a creative Christian, other people, what REALLY does make the world go round, I think it IS love, old hats, wedding cakes, children, above all, children, I like books and colored pencils, and swimming pools, and strawberry plants. I am interested in how it is all happening, right now.

Favorite booksMy new fave is The Boy Detective Fails, but I have hung out with the Ya Ya's, loved the Secret Life of Bees, and The Mermaid Chair, both by Sue Monk Kidd. Anything by Nick Hornby is a delight, but for fans of the film, I highly reccommend High Fidelity. The Irresistable Revolution by Shane Claiborne changed my life! Two other excellent "emerging" Christian books I have loved are Velvet Elvis by Robb Bell, and Everything Must Change by Brian McLaren. I love all the Harry Potter books, and the Diary of Anais Nin. A New favorite is the Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. I also love all of Melody Beattie's books on codependency, and The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule. I love The Little Prince, Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew, Grimms Fairy Tales, Who Is Veronica, Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland, and all of Zilpha Keatley Snyder's books. These were just a corner of my childhood, but it was a BRIGHT one! As an adult I have discovered the numinous fairy tales of Sybil Van Olfers, and my whole family can listen, rapt, while walnuts turn into silver apple shaped boats, and does become the long missing queen. Beautiful, spiritual, transcendent fairy tales. The kind to spend a day in bed reading with hot chocolate and a down comforter.
