Introduction I am a Principal Lecturer at Middlesex University and lead work based learning programmes for establishing and established practitioners from across the creative and cultural sectors at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I was trained as a designer at Hornsey College of Art. My professional career has included work as a designer and craftsman in the jewellery and optics industries. This included running my own design and manufacturing companies, as well as working as a manager for a large wholesale and manufacturing jewellery company. Further experience in the games design industry has included publication of a number of game products. My academic career has included roles in learning and teaching development and programme leadership. My current research is focused on professional development and work based learning. I am a member of the Centre for Excellence in Work Based Learning and a Registered Practitioner of the Higher Education Academy.
