| Introduction | I grew up poor in Los Angeles and survived on the streets. Despite that, I put myself through school and went to work for the Dept. of Energy, where I rose to the position of Chief Test Engineer, and later Chief Engineer. I discovered that the government was not conducting business as it should, and that they were discriminating and making decisions based on political agendas. I began disclosing these flaws around 1990, which led to me becoming a target by those who opposed my disclosures. I fought numerous false allegations and at one time I was fired. The termination was later reversed by the Merit System Protection Board, which found that the agency improperly applied laws. Following the reversal there was ongoing retaliation until we decided to part ways. The agency prepared a settlement agreement, which required me to drop all complaints in return for an early retirement. Unknown to me at the time, their intent was to entrap me in a crime. I signed the settlement, and 1-1/2 years later they sought to criminalize the agreement and convicted me. I am now fighting to right that injustice. This is only the beginning.
