About me

IntroductionI have my best friend for a husband, and we have wonderful children. I used to teach English, and I do miss teaching, though I don't miss dealing with all the garbage it involves. I love holidays, especially Halloween (I love October) and of course, Christmas. I love reading, going on walks, and sitting around talking with people I enjoy. I love everything more on a cloudy day, and I love rain.
InterestsFamily, literature, art (mainly as an appreciator not a creator these days, though I used to try to draw), history, plays (I love Shakespeare--Julius Caesar, Richard III, Timon of Athens, and Hamlet are my favorites---and musicals), food, music, old T.V. shows (Taxi, All in the Family, and Happy Days are my favorites), fantasy stuff (by this I mean dragons and wizards and vampires and such, not something you'd find in adult book stores...okay, I guess you might find vampires there, but that's not what I mean!).
Favorite moviesStar Wars (the old ones, not those lousy new ones), Gone With the Wind, The Princess Bride, Rocky, It's a Wonderful Life, Harold and Maude, Raising Arizona
Favorite musicCat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Loreena McKennitt, Loenard Cohen, Les Miserables (the book is great too) Okay, Kelly, here are my favorite classical pieces: Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (the Dire Straits one is good too), specifically Dance of the Knights, Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, and yes, I'll be stereotypical and disappoint you, Pachelbel's Canon in D.
Favorite booksOur Mutual Friend (Charles Dickens), Huckleberry Finn (Mark Twain), The Scarlet Pimpernel (Baroness Orczy), Emma (Jane Austen), Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte), Dragonlance (Weis and Hickman), The Great Big Books of Evil, as Mike and Deb call them, otherwise known as The Song of Fire and Ice Series (George R. R. Martin), Chronicles of Prydain (Lloyd Alexander), The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton), Lightening (Dean Koontz), The Green Mile (Stephen King), The Lord of the Rings (J.R.R. Tolkien) Harry Potter (J. K. Rowling), Winnie the Pooh (A. A. Milne), Marvin K. Mooney (Dr. Seuss), One Monster After Another (Mercer Mayer)

The wicked backspin caught you off guard. How will you play it off without losing your footing?

I'll most likely not manage to play it off.
