Introduction By: Paolo M. Bustamante It was around May of 2011 when that idea hit me like a big yellow school bus. Yes, that was a “Mean Girls” reference… I have always loved the Old Manila and anything that has something to do with it. I loved taking pictures and researching about old buildings and monuments and imagining life back then. I deeply appreciate the fact that the buildings and houses constructed decades or even hundreds of years ago, were very tastefully done. They reflect the overall style back then and they symbolized that time or that particular decade using a certain aesthetic that can only be uniquely identified during that time. Also, I wanted to celebrate the place I grew up in. Everyone only see the things that are wrong about Manila. But there is something about it that makes it a home, and I want to celebrate it.
